Final Fantasy XIV Offers an Extra 30 days FREE

Date: November 18, 2010 By
Izzy Levi
FFSquare Enix has promised to fix the buggy Final Fantasy XIV MMO that has been panned by critics as one of the worst launches in the company's history. We were all taken by surprise that Square Enix would release a game so obviously unfinished. If you have not been scared away yet, now may be the time to give the game a try if you missed the initial release, or like us, wanted to play the game very badly but just could not deal with the obtrusive menus. Well they have had their first major patch which takes some steps in the right direction, simplifying some control issues and fixing bugs. In conjunction with the patch is 30 days of free play. If you have not checked out Final Fantasy XIV or you tried it in the beginning and left now would be a great time t

Playing For Free: How a new breed of free MMOs are changing the world.

Steam50card 50$ Steam Gift Card Staff Recruitment!Back when computer games consisted of colored squares on a black background accompanied by bleeping, online gaming was a very expensive affair. AOL was king of the Internet back then. Pioneering online games like the first Neverwinter Nights and Ultima Online made their way onto gamers PCs, charging their customers by the hour to play their games. And the rates weren't cheap- players were known to rack up hundreds of dollars a week in charges just to play these games! Would-be players weren't put off by the high costs though. The people spoke and they wanted more games- the online gaming industry had to grow. As technology developed and the Internet became bigger and faster, games became better. Online games were not just for the rich and nerdy anymore; now the mainstream wanted

Will a Legal Battle Prevent Release of the Fallout MMORPG?

Date: November 24, 2009 By
Izzy Levi
mmo-legal-battle Bethesda purchased the rights to the Fallout gaming series from Interplay several years ago. However, Interplay snuck something into the contract that we have to wonder why Bethesda's lawyers missed, or intentionally let go. Interplay reserved the rights to produce a Fallout MMORPG. Bethesda can make any Fallout game they wish, it just cannot be a Fallout MMO. To make matters even more convoluted, Interplay had to actually be working on the development of a Fallout MMO to reserve the right, otherwise the rights fall to Bethesda. Confusing enough? Well Bethesda has just called Interplay's bluff by filing a lawsuit claiming that since there is not a Fallout MMORPG in development, Bethesda now has the right to make the game and plans to proceed. Interplay responded by releasing screenshots of Fallout Online, which they are supposed

Star Wars Galaxies: Player Made Quests Revitalize this MMORPG!

Date: November 22, 2009 By
Izzy Levi
Star Wars GalaxiesSony Online Entertainment has always been an innovator in the MMORPG industry, and we see them innovating again and taking a pretty big risk with their game, Star Wars Galaxies, by allowing players to make their own quests in the game world. This is risky though for a number of reasons, just a few of which are numbered below: 1) How could this affect game balance? 2) How would you prevent exploiting? 3) How would you insure that the game world retained high quality content, and keep bad player made stuff from polluting the quality of your product? 4) How would you keep players from changing up established lore and key themes? These are just a few of the problems that come to mind, and a few of them are discussed in our exclusive Interview with Star Wars Galaxies Lead Producer Christopher Field, a really cool an

MMORPG Rapper's DelightMusic Battle is a free browser game with different pay options. The game starts out with a helpful tutorial, if you can muscle through the first few minutes then you are all set for many hours of enjoyment. Many players usually skip the intro tutorials anyway and if you played other browser games then it should not be an issue to succeed at Music Battle. You can choose several paths of illegal and legal money making professions to keep you afloat while you record your first big hit. Want to make a buck pick pocketing some chump on the street? Or is selling dope more your style? Either way the money you make helps push your recording time in the studio so you can hit the top of

Neuroscientist Study: MMORPG players identify avatars as themselves

MMORPG playersIf you are at this site and reading this chances are you are a player of free MMOs or perhaps a monthly subscription paid MMORPG. You have probably spent time acquiring vanity items. Come on now! Admit it. We all have. The game makers would not produce so many vanity items that have no statistical or battle performance value if players did not want them. By their very abundance vanity items show their importance to players. Perhaps you have been one of the players who paid $800.00US to purchase a spectral tiger vanity mount for World of Warcraft. Well chances are it wasn't you, reader, but the fact that they sell on online auction houses all the time for this huge amount of money also shows how important vanity items are to players. At the very least you have gotten your hands on a special vanity pet to show off to you

Cataclysm Cinematic - The World Reborn A fly-through of the epic environments in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. It was the final reward unlocked as part of the 'Your Fortune Awaits' promotion run by Blizzard. Have you pre-ordered the game? Are you a World of Warcraft veteran? A new player? Or perhaps you prefer other games? Regardless the final cinematic is worth a look, as this will be the best selling MMO of 2010 certainly. We feel though that Blizzard will probably have to innovate with a new game after this or another competitor will overtake them in online gaming with something fresher and incorporating newer technology and concepts for online interaction and progression.
